Son of an architect, Olivier Herbez studied in Paris and earned his Ingénieur des Travaux Publics degree in 1999. He then studied architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and at L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture (ENSA) de Paris La Villette before starting his career with Anthony Béchu in Paris.
At 27 years old, he created hiw own studio. As an architect, he is willing to let his research contribute to his architectural methods and values handcraft design, believing that architectural projects are centered around drawing and design.
Passionate about drawing, he starts studying visual perception and painting and begins a research project at the Collège de France on the link between the eye and space. In 2002, he gets his Cognitive Science degree from the Université Paris-Sorbonne.
