Context

This residential project is at the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, on a site located downstream of the Château de la Madeleine (Madeleine Castle) dating from the 11th century.

Challenge

To design and build a contemporaneous building in an area with a strong cultural heritage.

Concept

The buildings’ design originates from simple shaps imbricated together.  The uncommon loggias we have built are emblematic of our project, each apartment is composed of tailored exterior spaces which form “nests” on the façades.  The play on shapes is also emphasized with a contrast in material color (dark concrete and light stones).  The architectural and environmental aspects of the buildings define this project as sustainable.  The use of old stones already present on the site and green roofs also make these constructions respectful of the environment.
