Context

This project is located in the center of the city Saint-Ouen l’Aumône, a city near Paris, close to shops and to the train station.

Challenge

To fit into a dense area of the city while create a new architectural dynamic.

Concept

The project is built steback from the Avenue du Général Leclerc in order to create a small public place in front of the building and parking spaces on the ground florr.  This way, dwellings only start on the first floor, farther from the agitation of the city streets.

Modest and minimalist, the builiding’s architectrue states its originality through the façades’ arrangement. The seemingly random distribution of openings creates a rythm which highlights the sets of full and empty spaes.  A small color pallet has been used, however an alternation between smooth and textured plaster helps create shadows, relief and depth.  Altogether, these elements make a graphical composition, both straightforward and contemporaneous.
